Doja Cat Red On The Runway

It’s always exciting to see what the world’s most talented fashion designers have in store for us each season, and this spring/summer 2023 collection from Schiaparelli Haute Couture is no exception. Social media is definitely raving over the dress worn by none other than the multi-talented artist Doja Cat, who graced the runway in a truly show-stopping piece.

The fit itself is corseted top attached to a beaded skirt. The red body paint and 30,000 Swarovski crystals take the concept over the top. The overall effect was both ethereal and dramatic and it is clear that a great deal of skill and craftsmanship had gone into creating this one-of-a-kind look.

Doja Cat was the perfect choice to showcase this dress, as her unique style and confidence made her the perfect embodiment of fashion house creative director Daniel Roseberry’s vision. Her makeup done by Pat McGrath was perfectly in sync with the aesthetic of the dress. The Dante Alighieri’s Inferno-inspired look was completed with a pair of red mid-shin boots that have a visible permanent toe print. I can’t help thinking that the Marvel character Mystique shape-shifted into Doja Cat for the night.

One of the things that I love most about Schiaparelli’s collections is that they always manage to surprise and delight me in some way. This look was no exception, and I can’t help but be awed by the level of creativity and skill that went into creating it. It’s not often that you see a dress that is both so beautiful and so thought-provoking, and I believe that this is what makes Schiaparelli Haute Couture such a special and unique brand.

The Schiaparelli Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2023 show was definitely one for the books, and I am excited to see what else the brand has in store for us later on in the year. The Daniel Roseberry dress worn by Doja Cat was a true highlight, and I believe it will be remembered as a true iconic and memorable moment from the show.
